“Bostonian Styled” Hits 100 (my fave ‘Style Snaps’ so far…)
To commemorate finally hitting 100 ‘Style Snaps’, I wanted to highlight some of my favorite outfit ideas thus far; but first, I’d like to share a little bit more about myself and why I started this whole “Bostonian Styled” thing!
So, obviously, I love everything style and fashion (hence, the blog 😉 ). But another one of my passions is the study of Psychology, which is what I got my MA in at Boston University – and that is where this whole blog thing kind of started. While studying at B.U., I was so inspired by the street-style I encountered while walking around campus and the city – which was so different from the kind of style I was use to seeing back home in New Hampshire (shout out to the 603 btw); however, as a commuting grad student in a rigorous program, I didn’t even have time to blow dry my hair in the morning, let alone time to draw upon this new-found inspiration to create trendy outfits everyday. Luckily though, when I graduated in May of 2016, I was able to land a nice 9-5 job in the city as a research assistant, and finally had some time to devote to picking out my outfits for work.
But, because you can’t really do jack in my field without a PhD, I know that I have to go back to school once my contract is up at my current job – which is really bitter sweet for me because while I love studying Psychology, I also love having time to style myself everyday, which I most definitely won’t have if I get into a PhD program come Fall 2018 (*fingers crossed*).
So, being the type-A person that I am, I decided that I would use my awesome Stylebook App to create 260 outfits – that way, I would have a different outfit for each work day for an entire year (yeah, I know, I probably have way too much time on my hands right now). As I started out on my little “fashion endeavor”, I began to get so many compliments from people at work and out on the street for every look I created – and since I was cataloguing all of my outfits on my phone anyway, I figured, “Why not just make a blog out of this?”.
But enough about me, here are some of my favorite looks so far, which hopefully can bring you a little inspiration when getting dressed in the morning! 😉
