Outfit Idea (what I wore July 31, 2017)
I love and hate the idea of capsule wardrobes: I love it because it’s all about making the most out of the clothes that you already have, but as someone who loves color, I also hate the notion that capsule wardrobes should be comprised of only “statement pieces” (i.e., neutral colored clothing). Today, I wanted to give an example of how – through color-blocking, you can still have a minimalist wardrobe, without having to just wear all black and white. So, on Fridays, I usually go back home to NH after work for the weekend, and then drive back to Boston for work on Monday morning. This weekend, I wanted to pack light, so instead of packing a whole new outfit to wear for work on Monday, I just packed this neon pink paisley maxi-skirt, and paired it with the royal blue blouse, beaded green statement necklace, and royal blue wedge heels that I wore with a black and gold pattern skirt on Friday – and “Voila”, I just created a whole new look with just one skirt! As always, for more (shoe-string) chic, city-wearable fashions, be sure to follow daily “Style Snaps” of my personal outfits in everyday life at “Bostonian Styled (by Katey)” on WordPress , Pinterest, and at bostonian_styled on Instagram!
